A group of researchers wants to evaluate the impact of a smoking cessation intervention on 50 cardiac patients at the outpatient clinic at a hospital, and compare that to another 50 cardiac patients from another hospital who did not receive the smoking cessation intervention.

1.Stratified sampling technique is used for selection of samples.
Here the research wants to find out the impact of smoking cessation intervention on cardiac patients by comparing with the cardiac patients from other hospital who have not under gone any treatment ang smoking cessation.
In stratified sampling the research firstly divides the population into seperate groups called strata who shares similar characteristics. The sample size is then selected . In this research study , the research has two strata, one is the group with the smoking cessation intervention of 50 cardic patients and the other group without the smoking cessation intervention but are 50 cardiac patients in another hospital. . Both the groups have similar characteristics, the samples in each strata has cardiac disease as well as they are smoking.The study sample is then selected by take the same equal size from each group or strata .
