Digital Forms of Communication:

By the word communication it is implied that it is means of sending and reciving information and it could by in written form ,oral form or by speaking the matter to the concern person.Hence exchange of information .

Digital form of communication is exchange of information through digital platforms such as web,blogs,emails,social media,podcasts etc.In simple terms digital communication is said to be transmission of data in digital form.For example when we communicate through mail,it is a digital transmission of data.

Benefits of using Digital communication :

Using digital platform of ciommunication as many benefits as in person and also for big companies:

Personal use benefit:

While making a normal communication there are many barriers such as noise ,distraction etc but in the digital fomr their is no distractions as such.

Digital communication is possible even for a very far away distance,from one part of the world to another.

Digital communication is faster,easier and cheaper.

Digital platform uses excellent processing techniques like data compression, image processing, channel coding and equalization etc.Error detection while sending message is easy.

Company:

In business we choose numerous way of communication channels right from teleohones to emails,video conferencing,Instant messaging,social media,blogs etc.

Uses of digital communication makes communication faster ,secondly data related to communication is safe thirdly distortion of data by others is not possible in digital platform ,Instant messaging helps to co-ordinate things in time which requires immediate response,blogs and social media provides correct information about the firm hence it become a point of reference for people who wants to know about the firm.Since digital communication can be done over large distances it helps members to be in touch with others irrespective of their place of work,Through video conferencing meetings,discussion,project planning,everything is possible without meeting this in turn reduces traveling expense of a compay.One need not to be present everywhere to exchange their thoughts or idea.Hence video conferencing saves time,money and effort.

Cons of digital form of communication:

In digital form of communication personal touch is missing along with emotion whic is their in face o face communication.Since message is tranmitted non verbally there are chances that it can be percieved by the receiver in wrong way as facial expressions, gestures, paralinguistics, posture, proximity, eye contact, touch, and appearance all are missing.One can become victim of misunderstanding.

Similarly for big organization digital channel requires huge investment,larger bandwidth of digital set up to communicate without any hassel,Securiy is alos an issue as devices can be hacked and manupilated,high power consumption.All this together increases the expenditure of the company.The technical problems could lead to the failure of whole communication network which can cause huge loss to the company.Other hardware is to be maintained to securily saving data ,in order to prevent is from disclosure.Any wrong information on social media or blog can tarnish the image of the organization hence manpower is required to monitor everything.

Efficient and proper use of any resource is always beeficial .Same is with digital platform if it is being used and handeled carefully.The communication that occurs daily is huge and this platform supports any amount of data as these form of communication are convinient and easy.There are various inappropriate uses to such as hacking,digital information leak,content leak,phishing,spam mails,trozan horses which cause immense problem in person as well as at the organization level hence their are firewalls to protect onself from these unethical practices.
