Discuss how the results of the Baldrige assessment you are conducting this semester could serve as a tool for management to identify and assign projects. Give some examples of viable projects you think could be derived from your assessment that would benefit from being conducted as Six Sigma projects

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer - The Baldrige assessment model provides a framework to measure the performance of a project and the teammates. The parameters, namely, leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, workforce focus, project and knowledge management, etc help asses the complexity and priority of different tasks in a project and the ability of the workforce to execute the tasks properly. Baldrige model helps in better employee relations, productivity, customer satisfaction, and loyalty and gain in market share. Therefore it serves as a major tool to identify and assign projects.

Projects which are customer focussed and deals with directly addressing customer needs are greatly benefitted by the Six sigma model. The main aim of six-sigma is continuous quality improvement to promote customer satisfaction and retention. So the application of Six sigma in customer focussed projects will be really beneficial.
