Differentiate between the following concepts: " in-group","outgroup". Then, list and briefly discuss your "in-group" memberships and the relationships and experience you have with "out-groups".
Differentiate between ‘’In- Group’’ and ‘’Out Group”
1) In group refers to the group in which an individual person can identify himself or herself.
In other, Out group refers to the group in which these group members unable identify himself or herself.
2)In group members have a close and loving relationship with each others. Group members are very much loyal to their group.
In other hand, in group members are always shows disliking, disrespect and avoiding behaviors towards the out group members.
3)In group members always used the term ‘’we’’ for showing their bond with each others.
In other hand, they always have used the term ‘’they’’ for the out group members.
4)In groups are based on the Ethnocentrism and
Out group is never based on the Ethnocentrism.
5)Members of the in- Group always feels a bond and positive attitude towards the In- Group.
In other hand, in- Group members have a negative attitude for the members of out- group.
In- Group Membership-
I always have felt a strong bond with my In-group members. I am a member of a sporting club. I can identify myself in my In- Group. This club is like my family. Here we all have a loving relationship with each others. We always feel like we are like a family. We never disrespect each other’s and we all can fight together if a bad situation arrives. I feel motivated in my Group. There are some specific characteristics in my in- Group. Such as
Experience I have with’’ Out- Group’’
I never have felt any bond for the ‘’Out Group’’. The opposition Sporting Club is the ‘’Out Group’’ for me. I always have used the term ‘’ they’’ to describe the out group. I have a negative and avoiding attitude towards the Out-group. I have always experienced a rivalry feeling towards the Out group. An Out group is always a rival for me. There is no loving relationship between me and the members of the out group.
