The mission statement of the NIOSH is to develop new knowledge in the field of occupational safety and health and to transfer that knowledge into practice

The safety within the NIOSH is addressed by addressing under Workplace safety and Health to implement and develop safety standards and mechanisms. The following are the major areas that NIOSH have addressed safety:

In nursing and in conjunction to medical profession as a whole safety is of paramount importance. In nursing the job role involves handling various biologically and chemically hazardous entities and wastes. In personal capacity safety of nurses from work-place related and induced injuries and illness is a major area as nurses are in constant contact with the diseases patient and also the constant rush to deliver in-time treatment can pose serious threat to an injury or mishap.

                         So, as a nursing professional it is imperative to ensure you follow all the safety guidelines and perform duty in a safe, calm and SOP oriented manner to deliver effective delivery of responsibility and perform duty with vigilance, empathy, morality and patient care. We can conduct regular seminar for work-place and personal safety and prevention so that we can be informed and take better care of the safety criteria and occupational safety.
