Suppose someone claimed to have a device that destroyed people's souls, but otherwise had no discernible effect on that person. How would you evaluate such a claim? Is the claim that people have souls any more plausible? Why or why not?
Answer: According to philosophers, soul is a metaphysical substance which has no physical form or shape. It has no physical place in our body. It's intangible. Any scientific research is not able to prove the existance of the soul. If someone claims that he has developed a device that can destroy people's soul, it will be false claim. A device which is in a physical form cann't destroy somthing metaphysical. Furthermore, to develop a device,a researcher have to go through a series of process. They test and re-test the theory and then construct a device. But, it is not possible to measure or to test something that is not in the physical form. On this basis, I will reject this claim.
Do people hve soul or not is a very debated topic. Spiritualistic view point considers its existence. According to them, not everything can be explained through science and scientific research. But scientific view point rejects this claim. According to them, Soul is a imagination. Soul is the function of our brain and congnitive learning and has no existance.
