The entire Criminal Justice System revolves around the evidences. Most of the time, it becomes very difficult to collect evidences and make people speak the truth. There are different agencies that work to prevent crime and bring people to the court. The biggest difficulty in the entire court system is making one speak the truth because a criminal with a good attorney may escape the judgment with the attorney’s expert arguments that are full of lies and on the other hand, a victim with a judge who cannot provide evidences might not get justice. These scenarios are very common in the criminal justice system.
Earlier days, police used torture to bring out the truth from the offender’s words but today with the increase in the humanistic way of treating the criminals and the increase in technology, lie detectors came into picture. It is said that the lie detectors have nearly 90% of accuracy. People still were telling lies and then once lie detectors detected the offenders telling lie, they admitted. Although it had created more job opportunities and few companies to flourish, this has made the entire process very expensive and time consuming. Sometimes, the offenders manipulate the lie detector and make the process even complicated because the offender’s state of mind is really important for the lie detector to decide whether one is telling the truth or lie.
If there is a device which just detects whether or not the offender tells the truth, it would be much easier for the entire Criminal justice System to decide the criminal in a short time and provide justice quickly which would be more apt. Justice delayed is justice denied, thus it’s very important that one gets justice but at the same time timely justice. Thus a device that detects the lies in the courtroom will not only help the judges decide on the guilty but also serve justice to the affected in a timely manner.
