How Nassar fails as a gymnastic coach? Long answer Please
Larry Nassar was the former USA Gymnastics team doctor and a physician with an osteopathic degree (1993) from Michigan State University (MSU) he was working as a physician with MSU as well. In profession, he was a reputed name, and parents used to feel proud when their children were treated by him. He was even called a wonderful doctor that he used to acknowledge.
In 1986 he joined the USA National Gymnastics team as a physician and athletic trainer.
Then he worked as a National medical coordinator from 1996-2014 for the girl's gymnast. He used to examine the gymnast at the Karolyi Ranch in Texas that was the training camp where no parents were allowed to accompany the child.
In the year 1997, he was selected as the physician for the girl gymnast from MSU.
He remained free and unnoticed because the voices raised against him by the gymnast and their parents were unheard of.
In 1994, there was a lawsuit lodged by the gymnast against Larry Nassar but it could not be proved, because he was the big name at that time.
In 1997 there was a concern raised by the parent of a gymnast to the gymnastics coach John Geddert, but he failed to report this matter to the police.
He abused the girls during the 2012 Olympics in London and gymnastics meets in Rotterdam as well. In June 2015 Maggie Nichols and her mother Gina complained against the coach with USAG, but it was ignored for more than a year in revenge Nicholas was not taken as the team member for the 2016 team that was sent to Rio.
The real whistleblower, in this case, is Rachael Joy Denhollander she was an American lawyer and a former gymnast. She publicly abused Larry Nassar of abusing the gymnast during the coaching sessions.
There were several complaints reported against him but either it was ignored or he was given a clean chit.
In 2014 Amanda Thomashow complained against him to the director of MSU Sports Medicine Clinic Dr. Jeff Kovan. It was ignored and he received clean chit.
In August 2016, when one more complained was lodged against him he was fired from MSU. The investigation of abuse started against him. The Michigan Attorney General’s office decided to review all the complaints made against in October 2016.
With this order, all the previous cases were seen and there were many star gymnasts voiced against him. It disclosed the pattern of abuse with gymnasts and that it is present because the administration ignored it.
There was about 250 Gymnast who had come openly against him.
He is awarded different jail terms on account of his various crimes. He is sentenced to 60 years of jail term for child abuse crimes. He is sentenced to 125 years of jail term, his license is revoked.
At present, the 56 years old coach is in Coleman II US Penitentiary in Florida jail serving his long term of incarceration.
