Postmodern thinking suggests that reality is constructed. In other words, interpretation is everything and truth is based on the relative experiences of each person. How do you think this impact upon working with families?
There are many philosophical concepts present that tells about that reality of the world and its illusive nature.
Truth is the term refers to the credibility of reality or authenticity of the standard.
Truth is a universal fact or reality that cannot be denied.
It is the opposite of the falsehood. the real meaning of truth can be changed according to different context like art, science, philosophy, religion.
In order to obtain the reality, there are many theories. Some of these are given below:
• Correspondence theory
• Coherence theory
• Constructivist theory
• Consensus theory
• Pragmatic theory
• Minimalist (deflationary) theories
• Performative theory of truth
• Redundancy and related theories etc.
In sociology and theory of communication, social constructionism is a theory of knowledge which analyse the development of combined created knowledge of the world that the ground for assumption (shared) for reality.
According to social constructionism allow the presence of objective reality. It also focuses on how knowledge is created and learned.
Reality can be different for different people according to their perception. It impact upon working with family because it changed within the families and its members.
