(The answer should not be less than 300 words)
As mentioned in the question, there are four common approaches to OD and organizational change out of while Lewin’s and Kotter’s model are two of the most popular ones. After reading the OD models, one model that resonate me is that of Lewin’s model.
According to the Lewin model of organization for the change process, refreezing involves the reinforcement of change that the change becomes accepted as a part of the system. According to him, it is essential in the refreezing process that the Organization who have recently adopted the new change in the system, gets used to the change and internalize the same in the system, by ensuring that the Organization incorporate the change in the daily life and therefore this is the process of refreezing. In Lewin's three-stage model of change, changing represents the phase when the change actually takes place. In the phase of Changing, there is a practical implementation of the proposed change in the Organization after the un-freezing activity has taken place. However, it is also regarded as one of the toughest phase since the people have to overcome various hurdles to adapt to the same.
In practical scenario, I feel assuming this challenging task and fitting it to the model is something that I shall be looking forward as an HR manager in future. This model stands out to me because it deals with the tactics to manage a Change Organization. In the era where technological developments are happening rapidly, adapting ourselves to the update versions of technology is highly important. However, sometimes, it becomes all the more difficult when the same is related to that with changing the entire Organization to adapt to a major change. This activity makes me curious and I believe if I can deal with such changes through Lewin’s model, then I can indeed be a successful manager. This model stands out in handling the change in a more logical manner.
