Social class is the group of people having similar social status mostly based on wealth. Even society is further divided as a social class hierarchy based on wealth, education, occupation, income, and social mobility. Here hierarchy is the positions associated with ranks of authority and chain of command. An earlier hierarchy was divided according to these classes and was considered beneficial so that the person who belongs to the goldsmith will follow the same business and will be specialized in it, Later scenario changed and youth made changes and adopted other occupations too and refused family business. The social class hierarchy are an efficient method to divide goods and labor into groups. There are many divisions made like Upper class who are considered to be wealthy and rich class, good educated, having more than good income. Then the middle class who are mostly serviceman, who is neither rich nor poor. The average studied and life expenditure is based on monthly income. Then there is a lower class who are poor, no studies, no social mobility, poor economic conditions.

The determinants of Social class are-

  1. Money- This is the most important factor for the division. The money decides the category to be place, more money than he will be considered in the upper class, and no money than in the lower class.
  2. Education- An educated person is considered to respectable, will be engaged in good profession his social status increases.
  3. Occupation- If he is a government he has good position in the society too as he has authority, if an educated lawyer is there he will be respected and will be categorized in upper class but less or not educated person with no money and poor earning job person is believed to be a burden for the society.
  4. Income- More education, a good professional will give a good income, a good lifestyle can be followed, these type of peoples are like the star of the society which makes the class looks shiny and beautiful.
  5. Caste and color- Many countries are facing the issue of caste where people are divided according to their caste and treated according, lower-class people are not given equal rights, positions in the office, and society. Even sometimes are not allowed to enter into religious places. Color differences is a very old issue, this problem gave birth to two great leaders like Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi. They fought for the rights of these people.

Because of good education people nowadays are giving equal chances to everyone in society. Many programs are held to make people understand and resolve the differences which are being followed from years. People understand and believe the one who deserves should be positioned no matter what caste, color, or background.
