The police, their practices, and community relationships have all been under close scrutiny after numerous controversial cases. We learned about the hiring process for police officers, which includes psychological testing, as well as how police are provided with on-the-job psychological services. Create a personality profile in a descriptive paragraph, that a police agency could use in their selection process and explain why you included those traits.

1. Applicants who would be providing false information , will thereby barred from the process of hiring and hence they wont be able to participate any longer .

2. The police will go through a pre - employment screening test . In this process, they are required to submit an Authorisation for release form. Along with it they are required to provide a personal history statement . Hence , thereafter their information will be reviewed by an adjudicator, along with all the records provided (i.e. driving , criminal , credit )

3. After reviewing all the information provided by the applicant , they are being called to the Assessment center . They are being assessed for over two days . It consists of 4 parts :

a) Orientation session : The mission of the job , opportunities of the job are being discussed .

b) Written Exam : The written exam will only be valid for those who are qualified . It will test the knowledge of maths , reading , grammar etc. They need to score a minimum marks of 70.

c) Physical Readiness Test : The training programs , are provided to the police officer in order to physically fit. They need to pass this test , in order for further qualification.

4 . Pre - employment review : It will be followed by a personal interview that will involve to review, clarify and confirm the information which are submitted in the office for the position of Police officer .

The psychological test that they go through is of 6 hours . Prior to the test , they are suggested to take proper rest and food. It tests the behaviour of the applicant , whether he/she is fit for the position or not.

Qualities required to be a police officer are:

a) To have an open mind.

b) To be assertive in nature.

c) To be responsible .

d) Should be calm , in matters of risky situations.

e) Need to have good communication skills.

Hence , these reasons are important in order to become a police officer . I chose these traits , because I think to be 'must have' in a police officer ,in order to help the administration in a proper way.
