Why is it important to manage one's own website from a security point of view given the times we live in?
A website is your storefront, and often your first contact with customers and business partners .Content that we are going to provide on our website is liable to be authentic by us.Because this content is being presented to the customer , business partners or to public/government organisations. And if this content or information is not secured i.e. if someone gets access to modify it.The information that we want to provide to concerned audience may get inaccurate that will lead to unpleasant relation among the people associated with your website.Lack of security concerns may lead to other consequences like infecting your website with malware in order to spread that malware to your website visitors, stealing customer information, like names and email addresses, stealing credit card and other transaction information, adding the website to a botnet of infected sites, and even hijacking or crashing the site.
A simple security breach could be a destruction to a business organisation. Most states now have strict data breach laws, and many come with stiff fines, penalties, and other costs. Even if a security breach at a small business website doesn’t trigger a data breach, it can still have a huge impact on customer trust if customers find out about it.
