Answer- The environment and topography of Greece has three main aspects which affected the development of Greek culture. These three aspects are mountains, the mediterranean climate and Greece's closeness to the sea. The mountains split Greece in different regions which are linked through the sea and sea trade took place. The sea trade helped them to develop a sophisticated culture and society. The sea route also helped Greeks to connect with foreign regions. Farming was main occupation and landowners were viewed as high class.
Greeks were good sailors and fish were a big part of their diet. They traded fish and sailed ships. The trade system influenced the culture of Greeks greatly and they developed an advanced form of cultural norms and values. Greeks started spreading their alphabets which included writing system of 22 symbols. Greeks invented coins by 500 B.C. The mountains affected the agriculture and political unity of Greece.
