Expert Solution

Answer: In an organization and office, employees are using computers to perform their tasks. Computer is a machine and a combination of software and hardware; suddenly it may be faulty and stops working. Most of the employees don’t know how to tackle this problem when problem does not resolve, places a call to the IT specialist; he is usually available 24/7. Most of the time, IT specialists solve the problem remotely, but they are also available to make an on-site visits. So we expect from an IT specialist that he can solve any type of problem-related to computers. So an IT specialist should know about each and everything about computer-related terms so that he can find a problem and fix it. This is the reason for what they are hired.

OSI layers are the most important topic that he should know about it. Because an organization has a number of systems and number of offices not even at one place but all are connected to each other through a network. It is the responsibility of an IT specialist to support the day-to-day operations of a computer network. Their job to make sure that network systems keep communications and information flowing smoothly. These networks include wide area networks, local area networks, intranets, and other systems for communication. A network has 7 layers over which a network works properly. Or we can say if all layers are functioning properly then communication between all devices will be smooth. If communication is failed with any device then call IT specialists to solve that problem. If he doesn’t know about layers how can he find problem and fix that? To find a problem on network must know OSI layers and its works. If IT specialist designing a new network in an organization, how he can design without knowing OSI layers. It is the core part of a network. And IT specialists must know about OSI layers to find problems over the network and fix them and install a network. IT specialist trains other employees also how can they solve mini problems and how a network works. So he should be wide knowledge of that.
