1. COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE MEDICINES :

COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE : Complementary medicine is something which is done beside the other treatment which is going on as the name suggests, like for example opting for acupuncture when the treatment for arthritis is going on.

ALTERNATIVE MEDICINES: Alternative medicine is a kind of treatment which is done instead of standard medical treament for example choosing naturopathy instead of anti-diabetic drugs.

2. AYURVEDIC MEDICINE AND CHINESE MEDICINE :

SIMILARITIES:

• Ayurvedic medicine and chinese medicine both treats the disease by considering that there is something wrong with the energy like for chinese it is qi.
• Their technique for diagnosing the disease is by using their 5 senses.
• Their way of checking the pulse is same.
• Another way of diagnosing the disease is by examining the tongue thoroughly in both Chinese and Aturvedic medicine.

DIFFERENCES :

• Ayurvedic medicine treats the disease and explains it in terms of Dosha ( Vata,pitta and kapha) whereas the chinese medicine follows yin yang and qi.
• Taste of chinese medicine has 5 tastes i.e. Pungent, sour, salty, bitter, sweet, whereas in ayuvedic it has 6 tastes i.e. Sweet, sour, bitter, Salty,punget and astringent.
• Ayurveda somehow use modern technology to diagnose the disease wereas the chinese do nose.
