overt and covert acts of sexual exploitation. Is one easier to identify or address through professional counseling than the other?
Covert act of sexual exploitation refers to one of the parents using their children to satisfy their sexual urges, although they don’t have any physical intimacy. It happens through verbal physical description, making them watch sexual movies and satisfy their lost intimacy with their partners. It usually happens with single parents who don’t live with their partners. Overt act of sexual exploitation on the other hand is a concept that refers to one using another for their physical pleasures by inflicting pain and suffering on the one who is being used. This normally occurs in the form of sexual harassment or even with partners who don’t like to have sex with each other. I think overt acts of sexual exploitation can be easily identified with counselling because it occurs mostly with adults and mostly strangers or known people involve in it but in overt act, the parent themselves involve and the children are too little to understand and react.
