Calculate the Molar Mass for the following compounds: Fe3 (PO4)2 (NH4)2S Zn (C2H3O2)2

Calculate the Molar Mass for the following compounds:

Fe3 (PO4)2

(NH4)2S

Zn (C2H3O2)2

Solutions

Expert Solution

Molar mass of Fe3 (PO4)2 = 3*molar mass of Fe + 2*molar mass of P + 8*molar mass of O
                                                      = 3*56.85 + 2*31 + 8*16
                                                       = 357.5 g/mol

Molar mass of (NH4)2S = 2* Molar mass of N + 8*Molar mass of H + Molar mass of S
                                                = 2* 14 + 8*1 + 32
                                                = 68 g/mol

Molar mass of Zn (C2H3O2)2 = Molar mass of Zn + 4*Molar mass of C + 6*Molar mass of H + 4*Molar mass of O
                                                           = 65.4 + 8*12 + 6*1 + 4*16
                                                           = 231.4 g/mol
