1. How many poles does a magnet typically have? How is this different from electric charge?
2. How does a compass work? What does the direction it points in tell you, and why?
3. What is the Right-Hand Rule? Is there only one Right-Hand Rule?
4. Do magnetic fields ever interact with charges? Explain.
5. Without the help of a permanent magnet, how could you create a constant magnetic field?
ANS1.
A MAGNET TYPICALLY HAVE TWO POLES.
WE CAN ISOLATE THE ELECTRIC BUT MAGNETIC POLES CANNOT BE ISOLATED i.e WE CAN HAVE SINGLE POSITIVE CHARGE AS WELL AS SINGLE NEGATIVE CHARGE BUT WE CAN'T HAVE SINGLE NORTH POLE OR SOUTH POLE. MONOPOLES DOES'NT EXIST.
ANS3.
Fleming's right hand rule
Fleming's Right-hand Rule (for generators) shows the direction of induced current when a conductor attached to a circuit moves in a magnetic field. It can be used to determine the direction of current in a generator's windings.
NO THERE IS ALSO MANY OTHER RULES WHICH USES RIGHT HAND. FOR EXAMPLE BY RIGHT HAND WE CAN FIND DIRECTION OF CROSS PRODUCT OF TWO VECTORS.
ANS4.
YES MAGNETIC FIELD DO INTERACT WITH CHARGES. MAGNETIC FIELD CAN APPLY FORCE ON MOVING CHARGE.
ANS5.
MOVING CHAGRES CAN PRODUCE CONSTANT AS WELL AS VARIABLE MAGNETIC FIELD. WE KNOW CURRENT CARRYING WIRE CONTAIN MOVING ELECTRONS(CHARGE). IT MEANS CURRENT CARRYING WIRE CAN PRODUCE A MAGNETIC FIELD BUT FOR CONSTANT MAGNETIC FIELD CURRENT SHOULD BE DC
