complete and balance the reaction shown assuming 100% neutralization AL(OH)3 + H2C2O4=? SHOW WORK.

complete and balance the reaction shown assuming 100% neutralization

AL(OH)3 + H2C2O4=? SHOW WORK.

Solutions

Expert Solution

H2C2O4 is HOOC-COOH(oxalic acid)

2Al(OH)3 + 3 H2C2O4=Al2(C2O4)3 + 6H2O

                                  Aluminium oxalate

Number of Al atoms on Left hand side=2                             No of Al atoms on Right hand side=2

No of C atoms on Left hand side=6                                   No of C on right hand side=6

No of H atoms on Left hand side=12                                     No of H atoms on right hand side=12

No of O atoms on Left hand side=18                                           No of O atoms on right hand side=18

As the number of all atoms are equal on both sides of the chemical equation, it is balanced.
