show the steps to balance the following equations Fe2(SO4)3 + KOH = K2SO4 + Fe(OH)3

show the steps to balance the following equations

Fe2(SO4)3 + KOH = K2SO4 + Fe(OH)3

and

C6H10 + O2 = CO2 + H2O

Solutions

Expert Solution

(a) The best way to balance any chemical reaction, first balance all other atoms except Oxygen (O) atom and Hydrogen (H) atom. Balance the Oxygen (O) atom and Hydrogen (H) atom in the last. So, in this reaction first balance the Iron (Fe) atom then balance the Potassium (K), Sulfur (S) atom and finally balance the Oxygen (O) atom followed by Hydrogen (H) atom. So, the complete balance reaction is given as below:-

Fe2(SO4)3 + 6KOH 3K2SO4 + 2Fe(OH)3 ................................ (1)

(b) Similarly, in this case also first balance the Carbon (C) atom and finally Oxygen (O) atom followed by Hydrogen (H) atom. So, the complete balance reaction is given as below:-

2C6H10 + 17O2 12CO2 + 10H2O ........................ (2)
