1. Social Perception : It is the study of how people form impressions and making inferences out of it.
Stereotyping gender has observed across all cultures in the world. The thing which has been observed is that of women being more patient, helpful , caring and emotional etc .
2. Schemas : It is a sort of framework of expectation which exists in a person's mind. The mind has set world rules , and know how it works.
Likewise , in a job the employees work for a specific period of time ,acts professionally and in return gets paid , benefits , allowances, etc . He looks after the management of the company , so that it runs smoothly .
Here the person's mindset is framed to work in a certain/particular way . This is called schema .
3. Automatic processing: We often tend to see it as something called reflex action. When something goes into your eyes , you spontaneously blink your eyes. Its something reflex, where you dont need to think about what you need to do next ? Its automatic processing.
4. Non verbal communication : Using of sign languages is one way of non - verbal communication. This action is used by the deaf and dumb children . Eye Gaze is another way of communicating non - verbally.
5. Attribution theory : In case of attribution , people behave in a specific way depending on the situation .
In a midway , the wheels of the car get punctured and the car itself is not working . The driver of the car, get worried as he does not know howto fix the problem. So , later on he called a mechanic and solved it.
6.Impression Formation: First impression are considered to be an important feature. Impression is a way where the person develops perception about one another .
When a person takes a glance at another person , he can immediately make a certain impression of his character , nature, etc. This is known as primary impression.
If an employee working in a company comes to office in a shabby , untidy and wrinkled outfit . He is judged to be a negative person , where his work is also expected as sloppy as that of his outfit.
Here , impression formation plays a role .
