Wearable computer:

  • Wearable computers are small electronic devices that can perform some computing operation on some inputs they receive their own or feeds manually.
  • The wearable computer includes the small mobile computing devices, new devices such as Google glass, etc.

Input-process-output mechanism:

  • The inputs are taken mainly through the sensors that are inbuilt in the devices.
  • The sensors includes the accelerometer, heart rate monitor, gesture readers, etc.
  • The inputs from the sensors are taken by the devices and that is used for processing.
  • The processing are based on the program that stored in that device and based on the use of the device.
  • The processed data is used to display or the action that is programmed in the device.

Example:

  • A commonly used wearable computer is fitness tracker.
  • The data obtained from the sensors such as accelerometer, altimeter, gyroscope, bio-impedance sensor, etc.
  • The obtained data from the sensors are used in the processing stage and the output details are either displayed or send to the connected smartphone.
