"Becoming homeless and without income may be, for some people,
their feared self."
In two to three paragraphs, explain what this statement means.
Thank you so much.
People are the products of their external environments and their internal thought processes. One of the most important internal thought processes is one’s feared self which refers to a state one doesn’t want to be. However, when it’s not dealt positively, people would tend to slip into that feared self which would be mostly negative such as, unemployment, poverty, homelessness etc. People can become what they think and watching their thoughts would have a greater impact on their lives. When one keeps thinking of avoiding poverty one may not work towards improving one’s condition but would only try to avoid such condition.
When people fear of becoming homeless or economically weak in the future, they have also start working towards it. It’s because of the fact that this thought process would get embodied into their brains so strong that it would act like a self-fulfilling prophecy. This would mean that people need to fill themselves with positive thoughts and actions that would fill their deficiencies. If they keep filling them with negativity, they would only move towards their fears. It thus becomes very important that people build a more positive world around them in order to work towards having a home or working towards overcoming their struggles rather than visualizing themselves to be travelling towards negative outcomes.
