It has been said that Maslow's theory does not hold up globally; that is, other cultures do not see self-actualization as the highest form of need. Rather, some cultures believe service to others or family is the highest level of need fulfillment. What is your opinion on this? Explain.
Maslow needs theory is motivational theory where composed five needs which often dipicted in heirarchy like pyramid.Physiological needs , safety needs, love , belongingness which are basic needs and self-estem and self actualization is top level needs .so undoubtedly self actualization is highest form of need.which can only after fullfill realining needs and it's make person consistent for achieving it.But it is claim that specific culture see self actualization is not highest form of needs because may be it's only bseed on individual needs which doesn't serve to the others and society. In their own prospective it's right . Because a man not only should think about own aspiration , needs and goal rather then to service other and family in their requirements , may be it's ultimate goal and highest form of needs. Therefore , people will not much self centered and so much desperate to achieve his self actualization needs .when people think about highest needs of service to family or others then they will become more generous, happy and get ultimate satisfaction on their life .self actualization needs often makes person frustrated because it's doesn't easily possible to achieve but if highest goal is to serve himself for family then people easily can be a mental healthy person.
But in other prospective , self actualization theory is highest form of needs also necesary. Because it's motivated people to become mastery on his own field and consitenly insist to do remarkable job for achieving excellecnce and self actualization needs.
