The constitution of US is over 200 years old. The chronology of Construction development of United States are given below:
1775-Revolutionary war between colonies and Britain begains
1776-Declaration of independence was written:the 13 colonies becomes the 13 states but unification of these states were not done.
1781-The last battle of Revolutionary war takes place, the 13 States set up a federal Government under laws called Articles of confederation
1786-Representatives from five states met at Annapolis to discuss about interstate trade between States, however because of low representation of states Alexander Hamilton and James Madison calls for another Convention to be held in Philadelphia
1787-The constitutional convention began on May 25th at Philadelphia. Total 55 representatives from the states participated in the Convention. Drafting of US constitution began. On 17th September, 1787 the Convention comes to a close as 55 representatives signed the Constitution
1788-The Constitution becomes the laws of the land after New Hampshire became the ninth and last State to approve it.
Now coming to the second part of the discussion, it may be said that the Issue of Abortion is an important issue on United States. As far as constution of US is concerned, the 14th Amendment prohibit states from depriving a person of liberty without due process of law. A person has a right to end a pregnancy without undue interference from the Government because that right to liberty includes (1) Right to make decision about family and(2)the right to bodily integriety.
Before U. S Supreme courts decision Roe v. Wade ddecriminalized abortion nation wide in 1973,abortion was already legal in several states ,but the decision imposed a uniform framework for the states on the subject. It established a minimal period during which abortion is legal.
