I was disappointed with my performance, as I had found several problem of process failure in the production unit. Here, I also identified several causes and root causes of such process failure, these are as stated below:

  • Lack of presence of preventive maintenance
  • Lack of presence of standard operating procedure
  • Significant issues on defining discipline within the site
  • Training needs of various workers and staff were not met
  • Too many work in process and process delay due to wrong delivery and late delivery of raw material
  • Failure associated with machineries as machines were too old and not updated over time

We could do several things that can avoid the current problem; these points are as stated below:

  • We should develop control over supply chain and improve quality control practices. Here, we should only accept good quality raw material and arrangement should be made in due time.
  • We should establish standard operating procedure, we should also indentify training needs of each employee and such employees should be trained to perform the processes.
  • We also need to control inventory. Further, there should not be any junk inventory.

The role of supervisor is to guide team members on several areas that can improve awareness level and performance level at each process area. Supervisor should lead in a way that works on empowering and encouraging each team members to participate more positively. Supervisor should identify various pain areas and check concerns available at the team. Supervisor should also implement incentive practices that would help team members to more aligned with the tasks and get such tasks done within deadline. Supervisor should take proactive role in performance evaluation system that must bring strong focus on feedback generation and helping employees to learn over time that could fulfill individual needs with aligning organizational goal.
