Would you consider a career in UX? Why or why not?
How much experience/knowledge do you have in user interface design, prototyping and usability?
I would consider a career in UX, simply because its interesting. UX designer or researcher acts an important link between customers (users), product managers and the developers. It is quite interesting to interact with a variety of people to know what they want and model it into reality. Not only it would expand your thinking and drastically and increase your creativity but also make you a good person with excellent interaction skills. The results of your hard work would also be quite visual and it can boost a lot of confidence when your understanding and creativity comes to life.
I was a Google intern twice and both the projects that I worked involved full-stack development. I myself had to come up with user interface design (with some feedback from my mentor) and it took several changes to achieve its final end. It was quite interesting to know the intricacies of user preferences that are often missed by software developers. I had to interact with bunch of people including the product manager and the manager of the project.
