Which of the four theories stated above do you think provides the most important ideas regarding population for today? Explain why you think so. Make sure to first explain the theory in your own words, and then include detailed reasons and/or real examples to support the theory you chose.

According to Malthusian theory, three factors would control human population. These factors as war, famine, and disease.

Zero population theory states that the human population is moving rapidly toward complete environmental collapse, as people use up or pollute a number of environmental resources such as water and air. It tells that goal of zero population growth, in which the number of people entering a population through birth or immigration is equal to the number of people leaving it via death or emigration.

Cornucopian theory states about the idea of humans wiping themselves out; it asserts that human ingenuity can resolve any environmental or social issues that develop.

Demographic transition theory suggests that future population growth will develop along a four-stage model.
In Stage 1, birth, death, and infant mortality rates are all high, while life expectancy is short.
Stage 2, where birthrates are higher while infant mortality and the death rates drop. Life expectancy also increases.
Stage 3 occurs once a society is thoroughly industrialized; birthrates decline, while life expectancy continues to increase. Death rates continue to decrease.
Stage 4, Birth and death rates are low, people are healthier and live longer, and society enters a phase of population stability. Overall population may even decline.

I think cornucopian theory suggests exact idea related to today's inclining population .
As we know from thousands of years, humans is evolving and adapting on this planet. They discovered and invented things and even doing that to protect their existence. As they discovered agriculture when fruits and animals didn't fulfill their needs.

Can Economic Growth Survive Population Decline? The demographic transition is causing greying populations, shrinking labour forces, and overall population decreases in many nations. Can economic growth survive? As you know from this chapter, Real GDP = hours of work Ă— labour productivity. The number of hours of work depends heavily, however, on the size of the working-age population. If it begins to shrink, the number of hours of work almost always falls. In such cases, the only way real GDP...
