Describe a conflict in a clinical setting that you have been involved in, including the effect it had on patient care and/or staff members. What strategies do you believe worked best in resolving this conflict? Are there different strategies, you might use in the future in a similar situation?
Organizational conflict or workplace conflict, is a state of discord caused by the actual or perceived opposition of needs, values and interests between people working together.
The conflict which I came in contact was Unclear job boundaries (e.g. That is not my job!) unknowing that it has adverse effects on Patients as well as on the teamwork inturn affecting care of Patients.
* Strategies that worked best in resolving this conflict are:
When people share perspectives.
~Ex: Employees are in the same team and want to do a good job as it
displays attainment of a goal i.e each one has sharing job for the
attainment of a common goal.
Openness in communication and healthy relationship among all staff members
* Different Strategies to use in future for similar situation are:
ST - Situation/Task
A - Approach/Action
R - Resolution/Results
The above STAR format gives us quick idea of the conflict to have a quick response to resolving conflict.
