2. Identify and explain the major factors that influence network design decisions.

There are many factors that influence network design designs, which include strategic factors, technological factors, macroeconomics factors, political factors, infrastructure, and competitive factors. Strategic factors look over the local versus global supply chain network and see the strategic role of each facility, such as the cost and responsiveness. Technological factors evaluate the characteristics of production technologies and looks over the technology fixed costs as well as its flexibility. Macroeconomic factors include the taxes, tariffs, limits on import, exchange rates, shipping costs and demand risk.
