There are few basic factors which influence extension of poverty in the United States. Few of the factors include job unemployment and a gap in the richest and poorest of individuals. Many countries especially in Asia provide cheap outsourced labour and companies prefer them over expensive labour in the United States. Every start to provide opportunities to citizens of America even at a lower considerable cost it can help in raising a large section of society from poverty.

Social workers and social services play an important role in maintaining facilities for people who are living under the poverty line. Social workers can make sure that individuals under the poverty line do not miss out on the opportunities that eventually are available in the areas around them. Social services can also make sure that individuals are having the skills which are required to function in the present workforce environment.
