1.Explain how a concept of operations document is similar to, or different from, other engineering design reports.

2. Watch people performing a task and create a brief quantitative and qualitative description of the task

Solutions

Expert Solution

Solution:

  1. Operations document generally involves a schematic that is preferably used for checking a sequence of particular activities or to track a certain schedule. Operations documents also involve planning diagrams and flow helping understand the flow of operations. Thus, in short, the operations documents encapsulate the practical aspect of the operations and hence the information contained in the operations documents depicts how to conduct the activities in practical life.

Whereas in engineering design reports the most of the parts covered are theoretical which are not necessarily required to be realized in the real life which is not the case with operations documents that need to be executed daily or at frequent intervals of time. This is why the engineering design reports focus more on the theoretical aspects whereas the operations documents depict the practical aspects.

Hence, these are the differences between operations documents and engineering design documents.
  2. The task we have choosen is cooking a particular food dish.
The quantitative description of the task would involve the recipe for the dish that involves the ingreadients to choose and their exact amount that is required to be used for ensuring the dish is cooked as per the desired taste. This is why the measurements of the ingredients is crucial. Also, the temperature at which one should cook, the regular intervals at which we need to add the ingredients are some of the quantative aspects of cooking where we need to measure certain elements to ensure our cooking process is going smooth.

In cooking there are plenty of qualitative aspects such as the taste of the food, qualty of the food, appearace of the dish. These are some of the common qualitative aspects assocated with cooking. There are also various aspects of cooking that can be categorised as qualitative aspects. The aspects such as the smell, the choice of timing to add ingredients when smell of the dish is particular one, these are some examples of qualitative aspects of cooking.

HEnce, these are some of the qualitative and quantative aspects associated with cooking.
