Why would restaurants find the SaaS model very attractive? What characteristics of the restaurant market made it difficult for a reservation system to work?
please write it through keyboard??
need good answer please
SaaS or Service based, software as a service model is attractive to the customer because the user doesn’t buy the software and install it on their computers but rather buys the software’s functionality.
• This leaves the backend programming and troubleshooting of the software to the developer. This saves costs and efforts of the users using the software.
• SaaS model has better flexibility as software updates and patches can add or remove features. Menu items and dishes can be easily added and removed from the POS or the app with simple version updates.
• SaaS model is extremely cost efficient and easy to install because the restaurants pay a subscription fee and acquire the software and not buy them completely.
Though reservations over phone are prone to errors and might lead to problems, the reservation system also has its own challenges.
• Restaurant market is seasonal and doesn’t necessarily follow a specific pattern. This makes it an uncertain business and difficult to predict.
• Larger and recognized restaurants are easy to reach through the reservation and can easily invest in reservation systems. Smaller restaurants are the challenge for the reservation system to work.
• Restaurants don’t have access to user data but software markets have, this makes them rely on the companies for the data and their products. • Required IT supports is not available with restaurants for their reservation system.
