One of the primary difference
between prehistory and history is the documents that act as
evidences. Because there were no written language during the
prehistoric period, there are no written evidences. Thus the
documentation acts as the dividing line between the prehistoric and
historic periods.
Herodotus of Halicarnassus who lived during the 5th Century BC in
the present Turkey is considered to be the first historian because
of his works. This title of father of history was conferred by
Cicero. One of the most important use of his historical accounts is
that he tried to gather evidences of the events, especially the
wars while documenting them. Although his critics blame his
accounts as cock and bull stories, he is the Pioneer of gathering
evidences for historical accounts.
Civilization is the bigger entity which may include more cultures,
languages and food habits as a civilization will have the social
class and groups. Culture on the other hand refers to the customs
and practices of a group of people in a particular geographic area.
Different cultures together form a civilization.
Invention of fire is one of the most important inventions of human
race. Although it was very accidental, it paved the way for further
inventions and moulding of the tools. Fire also helped the human
settlements to drive the animals that enter into human habitats.
It's definitely true that fire sped up the development of the human
race to a great extent.
