What are some of the major differences between the American business culture and the French business culture.

The inherent differences between the American and French society, in general, can be considered to provide the necessary understanding for a different work environment. While Americans are more work-centric, the French do not hold the same considerations for their place in their life. This is also seen in the workplace where Americans show a higher affinity for results and performance, on the other hand, the French prefer sustainability and growth over short term goals and considerations.
It is also seen that while American employees are more social and quick to engage in conversation, even about personal details to a new coworker, The French tend to keep their private lives separate from their work environment as much as possible.
Next, the meetings that are conducted are longer, more thorough, and often include more discussions and debates in a French organization, focusing on developing the best solution and taking into account all possible contingencies. On the other hand, the meetings that are held in an American organization is often short, compressed both on-time schedule and material, and often focused on the problem at hand, therefore requiring several consecutive short meetings as a result.
Next, we address the fact that the French are more inclined to
talk about their problems, hold a debate, welcome constructive
conflict, and be more open and straightforward about disagreement.
On the other hand, American business culture often sees individuals
that shy away from such conflict, where if it can be avoided, they
will. This also translates to employees sugarcoating their worlds,
and even their feedback in order to maintain a good
rapport.
