The Effects of Forgiveness Therapy on Depression, Anxiety, and Posttraumatic Stress for Women After Spousal Emotional Abuse

The main concepts found in this article is about the women who have been abused emotionally from spousal relationships. This study has been used for comparing forgiveness therapies along with alternative therapies such as assertiveness, anger validation, as well as interpersonal skill building. These women have been abused emotionally and this emotional abuse subjects them to various responses. Spousal emotional abuse has been seen to be evident in women, with almost 35% being affected by the same. It has been established through this research article that forgiveness has seen to be the most effective treatment in treating women facing such abuse. This has become more evident since as a result of psychological abuse, women face betrayal of their trust, as a result of which the psychological outcomes are even more negative. This in fact has seen to be more harmful than physical battery.
