COVID -19 is a severe acute respiratory illness caused by newly diagnosed coronavirus.The novel corona virus is the cause of covid-19(SARS CoV2)coronaviridae a family of large ,enveloped, positive- sense single stranded RNA virus . characteristic club shaped surface.They are transmitted by respiratory secretions by the fecal-oral route and through mechanical transmission.Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness .The symptoms of disease are fever, cough ,sore throat, and head aches and in the severe condition ,pneumonia, difficulty in breathing , and death can occur.

A good  health is always a fundamental to overall health and well being. The people who are affected with COVID-19 may experience several symptoms of mental health disorder like anxiety, depression ,insomnia, stress and also increased level of alcohol and drug usage. especially quarantine and its effect on many peoples usual activities routine or livelihood ,level of loneliness, suicidal behaviour are also expected to rise.The young people and the students are most affected by anxiety and depression during this crisis. Quarentine of suspected cases and lockdowns negatively affect the mental status of people through change of enviornment, isolation , disruption of services etc.Moreover lack of financial resource ,poverty and unemployment may become major sources of anxiety for the person .Due to the increased incidence of disease may cause feelings of insecurity and emotional instability are also responsible for maladjustment.

For instence the people who are in quarantine may experience lack of love and affection and they may go in the stage of depression , suicidal nature can be seen in mentally disturbed persons. OCD(Obsessive compulsive disorder) is one of the main mental disorder caused by loneliness.

Although the COVID 19 affect all the age groups , especially  the children and elderly groups are at high risk to develop mental health disorder. childrens are experiencing fear and anxiety , they may have fear of dying ,a fear of their relatives dying or fear to receive the medical treatment. Both young and older children may express irritability and anger. some parents may be under undue pressure themselves because the children find that they want to be closer to their parents , and make more demand on them .The older people may already be socially isolated and experiencing loneliness which can worsen their mental health.
