Of the list of bargaining issues, which would be most important to you and why?
Of all the bargaining issues, I would find the employee's safety and health to be the most important.
This is because various studies have shown the harmful impact of working in an office and sitting in the same position upon the health of the employees. From suffering backaches to muscle strain problems, the employees can be affected by their work postures.
I would bargain on this issue with the company and ask them to provide the employees with proper working spaces, with good air circulation. Also, the employees should be given timeouts every hour or two to stretch their legs and take a rest from their working postures. Installing gyms or sports facilities in the working space is also a good idea to encourage the employees to indulge in physical exercises.
Also, importance should be given to ensure that employees don't suffer from mental health issues such as job fatigue, stress etc by implementing work policies to encourage employees to take annual vacations, providing free and open working envriroenemnt to reduce stress etc.
Emphaisisng ont he health of the employees is important for ensuring a helahty society and hence, it is the most important bargaining issue for me.
