General knowledge and understanding of reimbursement is very important for both residents and employees mainly in making decisions and utilizing the benefits of facilities available. In order to achieve maximum benefit, the employee and residents need to have sufficient knowledge about the basics of reimbursement. The basic knowledge involves understanding of correct coding for services and diagnoses.
Patient care is the main aim of health care service providers. During the services the employee and residents need to take certain decisions based on the facilities and options available for therapy. Thus, if they are having sufficient knowledge about the reimbursement, they will be able to take correct and effective decisions on time.
The medical residents and employees need to have correct knowledge about the reimbursement as their decisions affects the service providers and patients both. A wrong use of code or lack of knowledge about the reimbursement leads to loss on both parts i.e. on part of the patient as well as the hospital.
