c) Suggest the safety measures to keep the patient safe from electrical hazards.
The following are the safety measures to keep someone fro electrical hazards-
1) One should never touch anything electrical with wet hands or while standing in water. It is advised to wear rubbershoes in wet areas. If you get a tingle or shock when touching a sink, tub, or other wet area, turn off the power at the main panel (if it’s safe) and immediately call an electrician.
2) One should always cover unused outlets and keep metal objects such as silverware away from outlets.
3) One should not overload sockets. A power board should be used with a safety switch and only one per wall outlet.
4) One should test safety switches each year.
5) One should not fly kites near power lines because the kite or string can conduct electricity sending it right through you to the ground.
6) One should never touch a downed power line or climb a utility pole.
7) One should avoid binding and knotting the wires because it may produce electric shocks which would be a hazard.
8) If there are electrical equipments which are malfunctioning and give burning smell then one should disconnect all the electrical equipment which is plugged into a socket.
