In regards to the mentally ill and domestic violence, what are 3 ways that we can better reach this group with awareness and resources?

Solutions

Expert Solution

There are some important ways through which this can be done. Let us discuss them one by one .

  • Awareness - Awareness is one of the vital components in reaching this group . Organizing awareness programs and campaigns through social media or street plays can help in increasing awareness among the society about domestic violence .At present this is normalized in the society because it is seen as a common household problem.
  • Sensitization- Sensitization of the community towards the issue is very important . This is beucase of the very simpel reason that still in many soiceties and cutues mental illness is seen as trauma and there is lot of discrimination that takes place . Sensitization helps the society or we can say community to learn and feel deeply about the issue .
  • Mental health infrastructure - A proper mental health infrasturcture is very necessary in order to provide support to mental health and domestic violence individuals as it acts a backbone .Proper support groups should be there and also counselling centres should be provided in every strata of the community . Individualized support is also necessary .
