1-Canadian biomes are often divided into ecozones for study. Explain the reasons for this division.
2-A pyramid of energy always has the same basic shape; a pyramid of numbers sometimes does not. Why is the base of a pyramid of numbers for a forest ecosystem smaller than the primary consumer level?
3-John consumes 11 000 kJ in one day. If plants can store 8350 kJ/m , determine the amount of land need to support John if he is a strict vegetarian

Biome are geographically extensive ecosystem that occur throughot the world whereever environmental condition are suitable for their development. The same biome may occur in far- flung places ,even on different continents, and in such cases it will be similar in structure and function but will usually be dominated by different species.Temperature and moist availability are the most critical environmental factors affecting the distribution of terrestrial biomes.Marine biome are most influenced by depth, nutrient availability, and temperature. The natural landscape of CANADA are divided into biophysical regions known as ecozones-!5 terrestrial and five marine. In turn, the ecozones are divided into smaller units known as ecoregions.Ecozones and ecoregion are characterized by their natural landforms, climate, species and ecological communities. The natural biomes and ecozones of canada are being rapidly modified by human activities.

Pyramid of numbers: This shows the number of individual organism at successive tropic levels. It can be upright or inverted.
Pyramid of energy: It shows the rate of energy flow and productivity at succesive tropic levels. It is always upright.
-Pyramid of number in forest ecosystem:
In a forest ecosystem, the producers are large size trees which make the base of pyramid. The herbivores such as fruit eating birds, deer, elephants etc.make the primary consumers and are less than primary producers. After that, the number goes down at each succcessive level. Thus, a pyramid o number in a forest ecosystem is partially upright or spindle shaped.
