2. When it comes to consumption of two goods, the consumers face trade offs due to increasing opportunity costs and limited resources. Opportunity cost is the value of the best alternative forgone. Given that the resources are scarce, When a consumer wants to consume more of a good, he has to give up another good and his willingness to give up the other good will keep falling (given the scarce resources) and he will face trade off between the two goods.
