What are the current challenges of recruitment and strategy to overcome it?
The current challenges of recruitment are the following – attracting the right candidates, engaging qualified candidates (this refers to candidates with hard to find skills and exceptional skills), hiring quickly and fast, and recruiting in a fair manner so as to ensure that diverse candidates are attracted and hired and that there is no unconscious bias present during recruitment and hiring.
To overcome the above mentioned challenges organizations should develop a holistic strategy. It should start by training its hiring teams. Interviewers should be instructed to be better prepared for interviews. Mock interviews can be arranged and recruitment resources should be disseminated. Secondly organizations should build a talent pool and should have a group of candidates that have already been engaged and who can be used to fill future positions in the company. The next part of the strategy will be to diversify the recruiting strategies. Use of social media to post jobs, highlighting and showcasing the organization’s culture and making use of job fairs and recruiting events should all be considered.
