The given statement is not true due to the fact that as if today about 92% of the American population have been covered under various health insurance programmes, but it has not reached all its citizens even today. The folllowing analysis of the health insurance sector in USA justifies the fact

The Patient protection and Affordable Care Act which is popularly known as the 'Medicare' or the 'Obamacare' refers to the medical and health insurance program that was introduced in 2010. The program aims at providing affordable health inaurance to thkae above 65 years of age. Let us now analyse the statistics of heqlth insurance coverage in America in the previous year

  • The US population is around 330 million of which about 59 million are covered under the Medicare program
  • Out of the approximately 270 million non-institutionalised people, around 160 million are covered under employee based insurance coverage and around 60 million are covered under non-employee based coverage
  • It is to be noted that around 30 million of the remaining people remains uncovered under any health insurance schemes even today.

The health insurance sector of the US economy are covered by both private and public partners. When programs like Medicare are being implemented by the governmemnt, majority of other people are covered under public health insurance policies. Thus, it can be said that all of the citizens are not covered under the health insurance even today, although steps have been initiated for universal health insurance coverage im the nation.
