Answer to Q1:
Information Systems solution includes hardware and software configurations where IS development process cycle is considered as SDLC (System Development Life Cycle). The development process cycle includes seven major phases as planning, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance. Planning phase deals with identifying the scope of the problem and state the solutions. This phase provides schedule about time, resources, cost, opportunities, and others. Analysis phase introduces the determination of functional requirement analysis of the system. It includes feasibility proposal of requirements those should be implemented to satisfy user expectations. Design phase deals with formulating an abstract or detailed structure with combining requirements, configurations, specifications and operations. System design is necessary to visualize the proposed system based on requirements, specification, and functionalities. Development phase includes production of required materials for further stages such as integration, implementation, and others. This stage can be known as instillation phase. Integration and testing phase involves checking the programs and procedures installed in the system. Quality Assurance personnel carries out this phase for evaluating whether the proposed system design meets the initial business requirements or not. Implementation phase incorporates putting up code for the programs, and this phase relocates the previous system with newly implemented system. Maintenance phase includes additional adjustments that are requested from client or user side for improving performance, adding more features and additional requirements compatibility.
Answer to Q2:
Internet Technologies are providing assistance to customer-focused services over some certain areas. The assistance in such areas are giving the most advantageous edge to the businesses, and the areas are mentioned as:
Software: Development of software is foremost priority of customer-focused service and interaction with software can be part of analytics for the business. The proprietary organization can track software usage report, feature demand from users, assessment of user feedback, and others. The collection of such data can be essential for gaining knowledge about target audience, user requirements, popularity or brand recognition, and advertisements.
Email: Email use can boost customer service in form of quick and prompt response to the customer query. The service desk should respond through email so that customer can be acknowledged soon.
Website: Website can provide an entire platform for user to interact with company’s details and relevant information. Website provides company details, contact page, frequent question answer interface, and even live chat service. These communication portals help building bespoke products for customers as well as company can gain customers’ insight about their existing products.
Communication: Communication unification is important for any companies towards customer-focused business. Voicemail, email, chat information, forum post, message; these texts, documents, and audios should be considered as potential source of improvements.
Answer to Q3:
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) can be used mostly for shipping and manufacturing departments. RFID tag is helpful for inventory management and certain products such as garments, food, and medicine; should include RFID tag from vendor side as well towards shipping.
RFID tags are of types active and passive; these tags use Radio Frequency (RF) electromagnetic energy that can carry data in read-only, read-write or WORM (write once, read many) configurations. These tags can identify, detect and provide ownership information along with sensor data tracking.
However, main issue associated with active and passive RFID tags; is lesser reliability for central database management system.
Answer to Q4:
Software can provide a positive impact on business strategies and it can play a key role to deliver value to the organization. Integration of software or tools to deal with certain decision-making can lead towards better strategies formulation. Software integration can support innovation that can help any organization to improve existing products with innovative features and performance improvements. Improvement in response is another key factor that can be achieved from integration of tools into organizational practice. Collaboration and association can increase positive impact over competitive advantage towards company’s perspective. Customer insight can be enhanced through software or tool integration; customer insights can help with better and strategized decisions. New business model can be incorporated based on tool-driven strategies and decision-making.
In general, Microsoft Excel, SAP BusinessObjects, QlikView, and other software are major part of decision-making and strategy planning for businesses. Additionally, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) suites and/or Cloud Computing suites are widely used to automation of business planning and informed decision-making.
