What are some general things a company can do to reduce its DBMS security cost? Give some examples and why it would be cheaper for any company to have these options.
Solution:
DBMS is known as database management systems. These are the systems that are used to store the business data and manage the data. The DBMS is also used to store, retrieve, sort, and manage the business data to be used for ensuring the business data needs used for business processes. Since DBMS store business data it is necessary to have appropriate security to the DBMS to protect the business data against theft. Hence, the security of DBMS is very much essential.
The security of DBMS comes at certain costs and these costs can go significantly higher if we do not have appropriate DBMS operations set up. This means we need to have an appropriate strategy to ensure the DBMS costs do not go higher. To do so we can ensure some of the following things. We must have a concrete structure about the access to the DBMS by the employees. We should give access only to select stakeholders of the business the access to the DBMS systems for ensuring we have appropriate security to our DBMS with not so high costs. Granting access and revoking access should be kept dynamic to help keep the security costs at a minimum.
We can also connect our local DBMS to the master DBMS to restrict the access to the master DBMS to avoid jeopardizing the security of the master DBMS. Using local servers is a great way of managing the security costs of the DBMS. Having these options will be cheaper to the companies because the need for security is reduced by using these practices and hence automatically the costs go down. This is why these options will help companies in controlling their DBMS security costs.
Hence, these are some of the ways in which we can keep the DBMS security costs in check and avoid them getting higher.
