Case Study:

A global leading chemical company aimed to define a global digital operations strategy that would help them to be a first mover and leverage the potential of digital operations, increasing efficiency while improving customer service performance.

Strategy& designed the digital operations strategy covering manufacturing and supply chain, developed concepts to implement the strategy, scanned the market for viable applications and piloted them together with the client and the technology provider in lighthouses. Subsequently we supported the client in the global roll-out phase to ensure a successful implementation. The comprehensive strategy covered topics like horizontal integration and full transparency along the extended supply chain as well as digital manufacturing topics such as predictive maintenance, augmented reality or big data process optimization.

The transformation created a great momentum and mindset change in the organization and helped to achieve operational benefits like lower inventories and increase efficiency in operations.

A) The customer behavior and customer response is different in different countries. You need to make separate analysis to get business success.

B) Maintenance would become a bit more complex.

C) Lowering the inventory level is good but their must be a specific level that needs to be maintained.

Enterprise software is bought and managed by IT companies.

Similarly companies who believe that customer is of utmost priority are using Customer Relationship Management Software managed by IT companies.

Most of the investors are looking for comps with digital operation to invest.

3. Social Responsibility and Business Ethics of Chemical Company -

1. Being a chemical company there are huge chances of leakage of harmful gases. The company should follow proper preventive maintenance for this.

2. All the employees working on site should have proper equipments and safety material to prevent inhaling of harmful chemicals and gases.

3. Company should not throw chemical wastes into water bodies or fertile land.

4. Use of poisonous substances should be as less as possible.

5. The chemical waste should be dumped properly and far away from residential areas.
