Recent History :

India and Germany have high deal of strategic convergence since 2001 into commercial and Technological operations . Recently with advent of Make In India programs Automobiles manufacturing companies like BMW and Mercedes Benz have started its operations in India with cheap labor and capital. Lot lf technology investment have been taken place like Smart City Projects. Total trase has crossed 21 billion dollars between two nations.

Since Germany has no strategic presence in asia it hasbeen one of best supporters of India because of its fast growing economy. Also by this Germany intends to be good friend of US as India and US have strong ties.

India and Germany have cone forward for commin goal and that isto be permanent member of UN Council. Secondly it is in best interest of India to join hands with Germany for military and defence support to counter China which has been long term enemy to both nations.

Future Scope:

Future looks great with multinational companies like Bosch and Volkswagen already invested through FDI and there has been huge cultural exchange where Germans seek education in India. Moreover both have been strong nations against terrorism and share common allies and enemies and hence future prospects look amazing with India too looking to trade heavily with EU through Germany.
